Program Overview

Mission Statement

The mission of the Hawks Soccer Club is to enhance individual skills and knowledge of the game of soccer through structured practices and competitive games at the Premier and Select level (more details under the tab "Competitive Soccer Program").

The central tenet of the Hawks program is to maintain a high level of vertical flexibility between the Premier and Select levels. All players train together and practices are managed by experienced coaches.

A few bullet points outlining our player development program:

  • We offer a 10-month program that includes indoor practices in the winter and field practices in the summer.
  • Most teams also chose to participate in summer tournament(s).
  • Players are divided up by age groups and generally practice three times a week.
  • The cost for facilities and enhanced training opportunities are included in our registration fees.
  • Uniforms have to be purchased separately (with usually a two-year cycle).
  • We offer a scholarship program to support players in need (contact the registrar (mjoatley@gmail.com) for details).

The Hawks coaches promote hard work, commitment and dedication to developing and improving soccer players of all ages, but we also want each player to be eager to come to practice and enjoy soccer as a lifetime passion. We teach our players fair play and how to win and lose with sportsmanship by emphasizing respect for teammates and opponents. We always set the highest standards, for both players and coaches.

We believe that the development of the individual and the team concept are equally important. But soccer is more than just a game. We attempt to develop good soccer players and good people. Enjoyment of the sport, development of skills, learning team work and sportsmanship, and showing respect for everyone involved are club priorities.
